Bellingham is set to host Washington’s fifth Texas Roadhouse with doors opening October 7, 2024. This is the first Texas Roadhouse in North Washington, located in Cordata Center, off Guide Meridian Road.

“They aren’t wasting any time building it. The new foundation is already poured,” said one user on a Reddit thread, four months ago.

There have been many whispers over the last couple years questioning whether the steakhouse will open in Bellingham. “I heard it will become a Texas Roadhouse restaurant, but that was a rumor,” said one user on a Reddit thread, over a year ago.

Once the go ahead was given, construction began to get the steakhouse open as soon as possible.

“I’ve been hoping to hear about when it’d be opening for like a year now. This is wonderful news!” said another Reddit user on the Texas Roadhouse thread.

In early 2023, the steakhouse blew up on Tik Tok, with people eager to share everything they ate at Texas Roadhouse. Their rolls in particular grew a huge popularity through these videos, leading to a whole subgenre of Texas Roadhouse roll videos.

Roll videos ranged from, “get a dozen rolls for $5” to “how many rolls can I eat.” With the increase in popularity on social media, Bellingham residents should make sure to try the rolls themselves.

“Honestly my second oldest brother once ate 30 of [their rolls] in one sitting while we were there and then ate his entire rack of ribs like it was nothing,” said Merlot Bingham, Western student and South-Carolina native. “All you really need to know about it [Texas Roadhouse] is, when they bring you those rolls and the amazing honey butter that comes with them, you eat the shit out of those.”

With a mix of local steakhouses and chain steakhouses already in Bellingham, Texas Roadhouse won’t be the first or last chain steakhouse to enter the area. The chain will, however, be the only steakhouse in this Bellis Fair Mall-adjacent area.

Steaks won’t be the only thing Texas Roadhouse will be bringing to Cordata Center either. Prior to opening, this restaurant has released over 200 job openings, with every position up for grabs according to the Texas Roadhouse website and hiring forms.

“[When] Texas Roadhouse comes to Bellingham, then everyone can see what good barbeque and fried chicken is like,” Bingham said.
